I’m about to drop some straight up optimism on you. Despite the fact that the Wildcat football team dropped its opener 56-0 against a very talented Tennessee Martin team, Baker will still compete for the HAAC title.
Call me crazy but I saw some positive points on the field, even though the defense gave up 56 points and the offense failed to score any.
The offense has some definite playmakers at running back and receiver. These guys will put up big numbers in the HAAC conference.
There is one other note-worthy fact that points to the Wildcats competing with most teams this year. The defensive players have been impressed with the offense, particularly the offensive line and running game. This hasn’t really been the case as much in previous years.
The team travels to Culver-Stockton on Saturday. Look for the home team to play hard but the Wildcats to overcome in the end. Field goals could very well play a big part.
